Deviation Actions
If anyone's noticed, I've been concentrating mainly on stock-based photomanipulations lately. Because I've been using stock, people outside of this community have been telling me I'm not making art, just decolletage, or, worse, stealing other people's art and making it my own. I know that I'm not stealing anything. I've been very careful to thank the stock owners for the use of their material. I post links to them and even to outside sources. But these accusations really upset me, especially since most of my accusers have never seen my work. I now open myself up to my true peers, my fellow deviants. Is what I'm doing, at best, only decolletage or, at worst, plain stealing, or is it art?

Peace, prosperity and honor killings
Has anyone noticed how most of the reported honor killings occur in troubled countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Jordan and the Palestinian territory, or among people from those places? We rarely hear of them occurring in the UAE or Qatar. Is it because those latter places are rich and prosperous?
Actually, it's more likely the other way around. It's because honor killings and other forms of violence almost never occur in those countries that they have become rich and prosperous.
Peace is good for the country. Violence, including those within the family, disrupts society and causes nothing but destruction and desolation.

I have a new computer and I'm learning to photoshop. It'll probably take time, so I won't be posting any deviations for a while.
Perspectives
Today is Sept. 11.
Today, people are going about, thinking that their mundane, petty concerns are the only important things in the world.
Today, the Sunday funnies, of all things, showed me how wrong that is. Spider-Man is swinging over the New York skyline. He is angry because the Daily Bugle has hired another photographer as his official photographer, instead of Peter Parker. Then he realizes that he is swinging over Ground Zero. His mind goes back to that fateful day, 10 years ago, when the lives, not only of every American, but of every person in the world changed forever. And he realizes that his problems are nothing.

Using stock isn't theft. That's what it's there for. LOL Don't worry about it. Just hide the comments and pretend they're not there. C:
